“Wellness Program Approves”
By J. Scott (Arkansas)
The Scales work adequately in our Wellness Program. We use them to measure height, weight giving us BMI. Scales arrived perfectly calibrated with no need to adjust them. The setup took about 30-40 minutes leisurely. They move fairly easy with the wheels attached on the base. They stay in a very confined area with little space waste. Overall could non do better for the price.

I always spend a lot of time researching products before I purchase them. When I got frustrated with the two digital scales we have, I started researching a better solution. Like most people, my frustration with (most) digital scales is each time I weigh myself, I get a unlike reading all with-in a 10 minute period.
So, after spending a lot of time doing research, my wife and I distinct to purchase a Seca 700 Physician’s Balance Beam Scale with Height Rod. It was delivered in perfect condition and took about 10-15 minutes to unpack and set-up. The instructions ar very clear and I had no problems.
The quality and truth are everything I was looking forward. The old saying you get what you pay for applies here. Yes, it’s more expensive than the digital scales we purchased at Target over the years, but we feel it’s money well spent.
“Great Scale”

After having had several types of scales ,which have over time proved to be inaccurate ,I distinct to buy a physician’s scale like my doctor’s. I am just finishing a 6 week HCG dieting cure protocol where I need to weigh myself daily. This scale s very accurate and I am glad I made the investment.I also lost 20 Lbs. in 6 weeks.Seca 700 Physician’s Balance Beam Scale with Height Rod.

balance scale
Weighing scales were invented during the historic times. It is believed that the first weighing balance was used in the Mesopotamia Civilization in 4000 BC A weighing scale was the very basic need of any barter system in recent times. Few simple techniques evolved as units of measurement became popular. A weighing scale served the basic function of compare the masses of two objects or two unlike goods during the old ages. The first weighing scale was made of wood and it was really a weighing balance. It consisted of two wooden containers to keep the goods in them and both these containers were connected to each other through a wire or iron rod. Now the goods were put in the containers and the balanced weight was achieved when both the containers rested at the same level.
With the beginning of the trade era, need of an exact weighing balance became very vital. The first- ever weighing balance of the modern times was reinforced and designed by the great artist Leonardo Da Vinci in the late 15th century. People started making certain innovations and in 1770, Richard Salter, a British citizen designed his first spring balance to measure small and medium objects. 68 years later, after numerous modifications and improvements, he patented his spring balance in 1838.
After that, the new generation of the spring scales came into picture. It was known as strain balances, which consisted of a strain gauge and measured the electric resistance caused by the object to be weighed. These spring balances were far better than their predecessors were and they had more accuracy and less scope of error. In 1897, first indicating scale of the history was built.
The indicating scales appeared in 1940 and since then, the electronically designed weighing balances are ruling the market. Be it on the industrial scale or the domestic level, electronic scales have grabbed the market from tip to toe. The most interesting thing of the history of the weighing balances is that we still have to weigh the mass against a standard and there is no fixed rule to set the weight of that ‘standard object’. Assumptions govern the weighing balances and truth is just a belief. However, modern electronic weighing balances ar capable of confirming this belief to a great extent, as they have very less scope of error and can give exact results up to five denary places.

Given the fact that there ar now so many unlike types of scales available, the ones that ar most commonly used are the electronic scales and the industrial scales which are being used for commercial purposes. Aside from these two, there ar still other types such as the bench, pocket, jewelry, laboratory, baby, and bathroom scales. These scales signify the weight of an object placed on top. The only thing that makes each of these scales unique is the purpose it serves.
For example, laboratory balances ar being used to measure small weights that range betwixt micrograms and a few kilograms. On the other hand, bathroom scales ar capable of weighing an individual’s mass. Common sense will tell anyone that an individual cannot use a jewellery scale to measure his weight as it cannot support it. This is one of the prime reasons why various scales have been created for a particular purpose.
Knowing this, it can be easy to know what particular scale is being planned to leverage as long as the object scheduled to be weighed is distinguished. Scales have been developed with the capability to measure even the ultra micro analytic masses. At the same time, there ar scales that ar capable of measuring heavy objects and metals. The only thing that needs to be distinguished is what the needed and specific scale is.
By now, it is logical that the meaning of weighing scales has been determined as an instrument for measuring an object’s mass or weight. But there are two main types of scales: the spring and balance scale. The difference betwixt these two lies on the mechanisms which ar being used to measure the weight of the object. While the spring scale does its measurement by the deflected spring’s distance under its load, the balance scale has a more complicated way to measure mass.
The balance scale makes use of a comparison that occurs betwixt the torques on an arm which is supposed to equal the sample weight of the torque on another arm. This is done through a standard reference weight such as a horizontal lever. The most commonly used scale type is the balance scale as it stabilizes an object with a weight that has been pre-determined on the device. By doing so, operators can identify what the weight of the object is through the supplied balance betwixt each torque.
Today though, there is a faster way to measure the weight of an object. Through the same mechanism of the balance scale, there ar now modern and electronic versions of these scales that only require the object to be placed on the surface of the scale. In a few seconds, the weight of the object is distinguished through a small screen on the bottom part of the scale. This surely eliminates the need for the classic versions of weighing scales that used to be abundant in hospitals and clinics in previous days. Without the necessary adjustments of the torques, the electronic measuring scale produces a faster response to how much the weight of the object being measured is.
